The Weekend That Was Oakland (Part One): Oakland A's FanFest 2019

Updated: Jun 15

Once again, the Green and Gold fandom invaded #JackLondonSquare on the #Oakland waterfront (and corporate headquarters of the Oakland A’s) to celebrate the upcoming 2019 baseball season.

After a memorable 2018 season, which saw the team make the baseball playoffs unexpectedly, fan expectations for the upcoming year were quite high.

Much larger than previous Fanfests, fans got the chance to meet with current and former Oakland players, and also got the chance to see the latest renderings for the proposed new ballpark.

As per the usual tradition, the Oakland Athletics provided free food to all attendees via numerous food trucks and vendors at the event. However, as also tends to the case, Coliseum security and Oakland #police officers had to help manage irate crowd members when the food trucks were forced to shutdown at the end of the event.

Lol.

All in all, it was a fun family friendly event.
