In response to all our fans asking us to revive our world famous “Smoke Eaters” photo blog, we’ve listened.
Here are some photos of the Oakland Fire Department responding to a one-alarm apartment fire on Bellevue Avenue near Lake Merritt last Sunday afternoon.
The arriving engine and truck companies quickly extinguished the fire.
Although apartment fires in the area are sort of rare, a few hours later firefighters would be called to another fire near this location.
