The #Oracle backed #Sailgp sailing races visited the #SanFrancisco Bay during the first week of May.
Despite reports of the sailing championship having financial troubles, a sizable crowd turned out at the San Francisco waterfront to watch teams from the Untied States, Japan, China, Australia, Great Britain, and France race their high-tech (and extremely expensive) catamarans around the bay.
As a surprise, the team from Japan quickly smashed all competition before the usual suspects from Australia reminded the participants why they are a force in the race sailing world.
Sadly, in regards to this race, the United States did not win a single race.
We look forward to the next races either later this year or next.
