Festivals with bigger corporate budgets often get all the press in the #Oakland/ #San Francisco Bay Area, but the #Umoja Festival is one of very few Bay Area Summer festivals that cater to the African/African-American crowd-a segment of the population that other Bay Area #festivals tend to ignore.
Taking place every August in the historic Lowell Park in West Oakland, the Umoja Festival highlights #African music, dance, fashion, and food from every segment of the #African, #African-American, and #West Indie culture.
Featuring over 50 vendors and musical acts from across the world, guests to the Umoja Festival danced the afternoon and night away.
Like their slogan says: “Africa is here!”
